First AFS Training Day a Success with Case IH
22nd April 2022
In conjunction with Case IH, our T H WHITE Pro Agri team organised a highly requested AFS (Advanced Farming Systems) Training Day for invited customers on 19 & 20 April 2022. With limited spaces, requests to attend were in abundance for the two-day event.
The training day was held at The Manor Estate in Winterbourne Stoke, a relaxed setting for corporate events with ample outdoor space and social areas for guests to enjoy. Plus, the owners run their own farm with T H WHITE equipment, just down the road. Upon arrival guests received hot drinks and biscuits, with the opportunity to catch up with fellow farmers and peruse the kit displayed outside including a Case IH Puma, a Case IH Maxxum and a Pottinger Novacat 302.
There were a range of arable farmers in attendance farming wheat, barley, oil seed rape, peas and beans, all using a mix of Case IH equipment including Pumas, Maxxums, Quadtrac and Axial Flows.
After this initial meet-and-greet, the training presentation got underway. The Pro Agri team thanked everyone for coming and introduced Freddy Holland- Precision Farming Specialist from CNHi, who conducted the presentation alongside his colleague Jack Halmshaw- End User Trainer. They both explained what the attendees will gain from the day.
Freddy’s presentation provided insightful information around the Pro 700 display’s basic use and the wide range of options with AFS, whilst simplifying the sophisticated system to be understandable and adaptable for everyone. Topics covered included Accuguide, how correction signals work, profile setups, field creation, boundaries and headlands, setting up implements with Task Controller for ISOBUS, swath management, understanding yield data, and how to customise the display layouts to be most beneficial.
After some insightful questions, discussions, and a tea break, the presentation continued; covering the AFS Connect telematics portal and how to access this through the free ‘My Case IH’ platform, creating a centralised control centre that streamlines access to critical farm, machine, and agronomic data, providing an all-in-one management tool.
To top the day off, a fabulous ploughman’s lunch was provided by the event team at The Manor Estate for everyone to feast on, followed by the opportunity for a hands-on experience at the demo stands of the XCN 1050 display with EZ-Pilot and the new PRO 1200 display. Both are currently featured in the Case IH Magnum AFS Connect and the new Optum AFS Connect as standard.
Overall, the day went very well and our teams received some wonderful feedback from guests commenting that the day was very informative, providing advice and instilling confidence in using the systems to apply to their own operations.
